Choosing the Right Resolution & Format
Single Wide
SD, HD or 4K?
Very few churches are currently projecting in 4K. If you church is projecting in 4K, you will likely be aware of this. Churches using fairly modern, standard projection systems should use high-definition (HD) media, but if your church has not converted your entire set-up to HD, then you should stick with Standard Definition (SD) media. HD images are in 16:9 aspect-ratio; SD images are in 4:3 aspect-ratio (like older TVs).
Media Sizes
All 4K Media is 3840 x 2160 pixels. All Media created after December 2017 is available in 4K.
Our most recent HD Media is 1920 x 1080. HD Media created prior to July 2017 is 1280 x 720.
The most recent SD Media is 1440 x 1080. Older SD Media sizes were 800 x 600 and 640 x 480.
MP4, MOV, or WMV
You don't have to decide when you buy - you'll always get all available formats!
MP4 has become the most universal format for video files, and it is likely the best for you. Every Collection created after December 2018 offers MP4 files (instead of MOV files).
MOV (Quicktime) was the standard for video files for many years, especially for Mac. All of our video files made prior to December 2018 are available in MOV format.
ProPresenter, Keynote, Proclaim (MP4 or MOV)
WMV (Windows Media) works well for many Windows users, though MP4 also seems to work well with newer Windows software.
EasyWorship, MediaShout, SongShow Plus, PowerPoint (WMV)
Triple Wide
Triple Wide formats are designed for Environmental Projection or custom-LED large venue events. More and more churches are using Triple Wide projection, but most still project to just one 16:9 screen.
